Apply now for a 'post-Christmas' present for dogs...
At Christmas we ran our matched funding campaign Double the Pawprint. Our message of ‘Give £5 to help a dog in need’ was hugely popular and thanks to the generosity of hundreds of people across the UK, we raised £66,000 to support dogs in the UK.
We’d now like to open the Christmas fund to allow dog charities in the UK to apply for a ‘Post-Christmas Present’. Charities can apply by submitting a simple request of not more than 2 sides of A4 detailing the purpose for which the grant is sought and approximately how may dogs will benefit, and may request a grant of up to £1,000.
The Trustees will make awards of £250, £500 or £1,000 for the following projects at their discretion:
- ‘Post-Christmas presents’ for rescue dogs – spending the funds on enrichment toys and treats for dogs in rescue and welfare organisations.
- Post lockdown training – we know that many ‘lockdown puppies’ might not have had the access to appropriate training. If you are a charity offering training classes, you can apply for a grant.
- Core costs – we know that many smaller rescues in the UK struggle with food and veterinary bills and would like to assist with these necessities.
Applications should be sent via email to: kcct@thekennelclub.org.uk
Fund opens: 11 February
Application deadline: 11 March
Grants awarded: End of March/early April
